The Job

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Personal interest in events or related industry

  • Available to work weekends and evenings based on the event calendar

  • Organized, time management skills, ability to collaborate well

  • Required to lift boxes and inventory, sometimes over 30 pounds

  • Able to work in outdoor weather conditions

  • Familiar with Microsoft applications

  • Interested in learning-as-you-go 

Description

Interns at EB Inc Events will be responsible for: 

(list is not limited to other responsibilities)

  • answering office phone calls

  • scheduling showroom appointments

  • assisting sales staff

  • organizing linen swatch bins

  • pulling linens for appointments from the warehouse

  • updating website

  • updating inventory

  • creating social media posts for all platforms

  • creating blog posts

  • sending mass review requests

  • photographing events

  • requesting event photo galleries

  • assisting at open houses

  • assisting at style shoots

  • packing show boxes

  • reracking linens after appointments

  • joining event set-up crews

  • emergency pick-ups and drop-offs

Personal achievements

I have learned many new skills as an intern at EB Inc Events, these include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications

  • Ability to design creative social media content

  • Newfound comfort in customer service and professionalism 

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once 

Completion of Special Projects:

  • Creating color-coded inventory catalogs

  • Engaging followers on social media platforms

  • Creating company banners for open houses

  • Updating company website

  • Re-organizing linens to facilitate search 

Benefits

  • Hourly pay: ranges from $9 - $12 

  • Networking opportunities: Because EB Inc works closely with other vendors(florals, catering, cakes, venues, photographers, planners), you will meet with and network with so many people in the event industry. You can also join in on NACE(National Association of Catering and Events) meetings where you will meet the members of the Houston Chapter. 

  • Throughout your entire internship, you will gain experience in behind-the-scenes operations as well as watching events come to life.
